Abstract
The effects of patients counseling and medication teaching, conducted by cowork of doctors and pharmacisits, on compliance and orientation to drug therapy among 146 Parkinson¢¥s disease patients were studied. And two counseling methods were compared. In method 1 the counseling was conducted at out-patient pharmacy for 7 weeks, and in method 2 at out-patient office for 6 weeks. Total number of counseling was 192, and 52(29.2%) was in method 1 and 136(70.8%) in method 2. Patients receiving counseling more than twice was 3 in method 1 and 40 in method 2. Counseling was conducted with medication teaching menual and drug sample, and concurrently medication history and counseling contents were recorded. In analysis of counseling contents, 29 patients(19.5%) needed to get detail medication teaching because of order change and aggravated symptoms in the morning, 40 patients(27.4%) had non-compliance in the reasons of forgeting medication and adverse effect. But these persons became to have good compliance through counseling and medication teaching. Adverse effects were appeared in 60 patients(42%) in the form of GI trouble, dry mouth and constipation.
